State and Federal Programs

The State and Federal Programs department is responsible for the coordination and supervision of various federal, state, and local programs.  This includes funding and initiatives under the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act / Every Student Succeeds Act (ESEA/ESSA, as well as COVID-related funding under the CARES Act/ESSER and American Rescue Plan (ARP).   Programs that fall under this umbrella include:

  • Title III, Part A Program (LEP and Immigrant); and
  • Title IV, Part A Program (Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grant).
Additionally, the department also provides fiscal and programmatic support for state allotment-funded programs such as:
  • Alternative Education Programming;
  • Bilingual Education/English as a Second Language;
  • Career & Technical Education;
  • Dyslexia & Section 504;
  • Early Childhood Education/Pre-Kindergarten;
  • Gifted and Talented Education;

  • State Compensatory Education.

The State and Federal Programs department also provides training and program development in the areas of needs assessments, program evaluations, progress monitoring, and district and campus improvement plans.

The department ensures that support is provided to all of our schools and students and that Ferris ISD remains in compliance with fiscal and programmatic requirements and regulations of all Federal and State programs.
